(KTLA) -- A person who led police on a brief pursuit in an allegedly stolen large-capacity forklift in downtown Los Angeles was arrested after crashing into several buildings Tuesday, police confirmed to Nexstar's KTLA. At around 6:53 p.m. Tuesday, authorities with the Los Angeles Police Department said a person called to report they were following someone in a stolen forklift. Video of the incident obtained by KTLA shows the massive forklift moving off the sidewalk and onto a street crowded with traffic. Some pedestrians could be seen running away. A person was taken into custody on Aug. 1, 2023 after leading police in pursuit in an alleged stolen large capacity forklift in downtown Los Angeles. The event will be held at sites along the Hudson River Estuary. FENTON, Mo. - Frightening moments overnight in Fenton after lightning struck a home leading to a fire there while a family was inside. There was extensive damage to the including the roof being gone. There is also some siding damage to the homes next door from the heat of the fire.Battalion Chief Jim Watkins with the Fenton Fire Protection District said that there were three people inside the home when it happened, and they were all able to get out okay. Those people were a husband and wife with their young adult son.There were also two cats that survived as well. No injuries are being reported from the fire.Fire crews got the call just before 11:00 p.m. Watkins tolf FOX 2 that the family heard a massive thunder boom after a lightning strike. At first, they didn’t realize that lightning had struck their home - but then Watkins shared that a short time later they started smelling something burning and realized the leaves in the roof area were on fire. LOUIS (WCIA) -- Harper Finn, the five-year-old girl from Altamont hurt in an accident at the Effingham County Fair, has died.The St. Louis City Medical Examiner confirmed that Finn passed away at St. Louis Children's Hospital on Wednesday at 6:49 p.m. ‘It’s such a tragedy’: Effingham community rallies around 5-year-old hurt at fair Finn was airlifted to St. Louis after she was hurt Sunday afternoon at the Effingham County Fair. While attending a horse harness race, Finn was hit by the folding arm of the pace car, which failed to close due to a malfunction and extended into the grandstand.It was an accident that shocked the horse racing community and fairs in other counties. A man died Thursday morning after a shooting in Denver’s City Park West neighborhood.The shooting was reported in the 1700 block of North Race Street, according to a 7:23 a.m. tweet from the Denver Police Department.UPDATE: The victim in this incident has been pronounced deceased and this is now being investigated as a homicide.
